My 2024 hopefuls

My 2024 hopefuls

If Brangelina taught me anything is that nothing is set in stone, so neither is this list of books I'm telling myself I'd like to read this year - but that in reality I will likely forget about, once the thrifting gods bless me with some good book steals.

We all make resolutions, it's what New Year's Day's for, so among the usual ones like eating healthier, joining the gym or letting go of people and situations that no longer serve me, I also made the dreaded resolution of shopping my bookshelves and actually read the books that are currently busy collecting dust on them (my fingers are still crossed behind my back but shh...)

Unlike the previous 24 in 2024 list, this one can be taken lightly, as the expectations of me actually reading these books are very, very small. But one girl can always dream, right?

The variety of genre is to make sure I at least finish some of them, depending on my many moods, and the length is crucial for those days where I just can't be bothered but I'd still like to chill with something to read while having my - probably - third cup of coffee of the day.

FICTION

A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara
Beautiful World Where Are You by Sally Rooney
Sorrow and Bliss by Meg Mason
The Little Friend by Donna Tartt

FANTASY

A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J.Maas
The Absolute Book by Elizabeth Knox
The Binding by Bridget Collins

NON-FICTION

Guarded by Dragons by Rick Gekoski
The Book of Mother by Violaine Housman

EERIE / MAGICAL REALISM / DARK ACADEMIA

The Luminaries by Eleanor Catton
Horrid by Katrina Leno
The Latinist by Mark Print
The Hand on the Wall by Maureen Johnson

Now, will I ever read even half of these? I highly doubt it but it's nice to have some priorities whenever I can't decide what to read first, which happens to me all the time and causes me stress because I can never pick and I always end up frustrated and empty-handed.

What's on your priority list for 2024?
