A FEW FAVOURITE THINGS

AUGUST HAS BEEN HOT. AND NOT THE GOOD KIND OF HOT.
WHY DON'T HUMANS HIBERNATE AND WAKE UP WHENEVER THEY LIKE?

I can count on one hand the things I've accomplished this month which is zero. My body doesn't do well in constant heat and it also doesn't like to cooperate with my brain, like, at all whenever it's too hot and sweaty. I've been forced to go places and thank God Netflix was there to save the day.

01. Speaking of Netflix, of course I had to put the book to movie adaptation of To All The Boys I've Loved Before on its well deserved first place because (a) it was hella cute, (b) I fell in love with Noah Centineo and (c) I can't stop thinking about it. If you haven't watched it yet, seriously, what are you doing?

02. New book idea. I've been keeping myself from writing a second book and it hurt my writer's heart so much but before I get to this shiny new novel, I need to finish my first project and I'll have all the month of September to do just that and think about a second book in October so I can sprint write my way through NaNoWriMo and get my first 50k words done.

03. Recovery is over. Finally! I still need to be careful when blowing my nose or just trying not to bump it against a wall or something because it hasn't healed completely yet but I'm not feeling sick anymore and I can jump! And run up the stairs! And workout! And OMG I'M ALIVE AGAIN! But seriously, it's nice to feel these tiny little differences and it makes me a bit more relaxed.

04. Summer rain. I love rain in general, if I get to choose I would make it rain every day, all year round. But there's something special about the first rain after months of extreme heat and stillness, you know? It's the promise of a new season, a new beginning and the start of sweater weather time, which I've been waiting for since January, tbh.

What about you? Have you seen anything worth recommending? Read any books?
I'm currently reading Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine and to be honest, I'm finding it a bit hard to get into but I think once I start understanding Eleanor's brain a little bit more, I will enjoy it. Hopefully!
